Black Screen during Ubuntu 11.10 trial AND wubi installation

My computer(HP Pavilion g series) blacked out during Live-usb trial. I followed steps in Ubuntu official site and when I booted from the usb, nothing happened except a black screen. Same thing also happened when I tried a wubi installer. What is happening?

Usually that's due to a graphics card issue. Try booting with 'nomodeset': http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1613132

Once booted Ubuntu will tell you if there are custom drivers available for your card or go to additional-drivers to check
