Hi everybody.
I upgraded to Ubuntu 11.10. Tried Mate, but it proved to be too unstable. Now, I am using gnome in fall back mode.
Is there anyway to get a show desktop button? i.e. when you click it it hides all the windows and shows the desktop. Thank you!

AWN is the dock I choose, and if you get awn-extras with it there's an applet for show desktop (you always have window+D for a keyboard shortcut to the desktop)

Alt+Right click on the panel and select "Add to Panel". There's a show desktop button among the options.
Or if we're talking docks, I prefer Docky, which also comes with a show desktop button.
