Hi,

I'm a Ubuntu newbie. So please excuse if this is a silly question. I searched all over the forums and via Google, but I can't find an answer for my Problem:

Whenever I started my Computer with Ubuntu the very first Enter keystroke crashes Unity desktop and dropping me back to the login screen:

power on computer
Ubuntu 11.10 starts
Unity loads to right desktop (don't need login choice)
using eg. firefox with mouse, browsing file explorer with mouse -> no problem
open console with ctrl alt t -> no problem
then just hit "enter" in console -> Unitiy crash (black screen and Unity login screen appears)
OR System Backup asks me for my keyring password to perform a weekly backup: I enter the password, when I hit "enter" -> Unitiy crash (black screen and Unity login screen appears)
after I login with password again the error doesn't appear once again. everything works fine.

What could be the problem? How can I find or isolate this error?

System is:

Ubuntu 11.10 (64 Bit)
custom nVIDIA drivers
Gnome15 0.8.2 (Logitech Keyboard support)

Havn't had much time to investigate further. Do you have Gome15 (http://www.gnome15.org/) installed? That's my rough guess...
