If you have been having problems with your password not working, do this:
Restart your computer, selecting Ubuntu if you have two OS.
When you select Ubuntu, hold down the shift key.
Type in "passwd". This will ask you for your password. Type this in carefully, as it doesn't show up on your screen. Hit enter.
Restart your computer by holding down the power button.
