Hi,
let's get to the point :)

video playback on youtube and other flash video websites is a little slower than it is on XP. Is there any some kind of codecs or something that will improve the performance?
I use firefox and chrome.
On Ubuntu 10.04

My PC is
P4 2.4 GHz
Graphic card: Nvidia FX5200 (128 MB) - updated

The flash player received a lot of fixes since 10.04. So you can upgrade the Ubuntu version, or install the flash player directly from the Adobe website: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

I suggest two things.

Enable the stable firefox ppa repository for 10.04 which will mean you run the latest Firefox. https://launchpad.net/~mozillateam/+archive/firefox-stable
Install the flash-aid add-on for firefox which will automatically get the latest flash for you, install it, andmake sure there are no confklicting packages still on your system.

Bear in mind that flash for Linux is still not going to be as good as it is on Windows, though it is improving with time. HTML5 is probably the answer in the longer term, but for now flash is something we all have to manage with as best we can.
