Hey guys,

I recently upgraded to 11.10, and decided to give Gnome3, as it seemed that I would enjoy it based on the videos on Gnome's webpage. So I installed the shell, and restarted my computer, but when I log into Gnome, parts of the screen (the menu bar at the top, the transition between the view with a window and the view with all the apps, and some of the app icons) look all glitchy and flicker during animations.

Here's the screenshot of the glitchy top bar.`

Do you have any suggestions about what I could do to make it go away?

Cheers.

Are you using a proprietary video driver ? If not see if there is one available in additional drivers and install it . 3D driver acceleration is needed to run the shell .

Actually disabling the propitiatory ATI drivers and restarting the comp made it work. And it's all smooth and non laggy.

Strange , as long it's working properly that's what matters . I am not familiar with ATI graphics cards and have no explanation .
