Salutations!
So after some customisation and a little patience I've become used to the new Unity interface. However there are something's I'd like to see that would improve it drastically. I've made a entry on ubuntu brainstorm and I'm just trying to gather some support for it here.

Basically instead of having backlight colours either all off, on when the program is running or worst yet always on (giving you a launcher will a horrible set of mish-mashed colour shortcuts) I propose having a changeable backlight colour for each of your shortcuts. Lets say you have loads of folder, application and utilty shortcuts. If you could assign all of the folder shortcuts say a red backlight colour and your application shortcuts a blue colour etc it would be much easier to find what your wanting at a glance.
