hi,

I've been looking for ways to perform focus stacking (for macro photography) in Ubuntu. I've found "ALE", but it seems to be command line interface only and doesn't seem very easy to learn. Are there any others?

This probably could be done in Gimp with layers, but that seems rather tedious as well.

Ideas?

Ergo you wish to stay with Lucid as your main os.

Have you thought of running a later Ubuntu version in a virtual environment and then being able to use more recently developed apps such as Macrofusion...?

Note that the original post

Does mention Lucid specifically and offers a ppa for more up to date versions of the apps needed to support Macrofusion on Lucid....

Failing that you could contact the developer direct or reply to the original thread and report your problems and enquire about solutions...
