rdp is not "text/plain" mime type

My installation of Oneiric 64-bit has somehow gotten the idea that rdp (remote desktop, mime type application/x-rdp)is a "text/plain" mime type and there doesn't appear to be any way to convince it otherwise. I've done some extensive searches for the many places to set or otherwise tell Ubuntu what the mime types are, but I have found no definitive way to have it know that the mime types in /etc/mime.types are correct or that application/x-rdp should point to remmina (since tsclient is kaput).

Can anyone assist me please?
