Install 11.10 Acer Aspire One ZA3 wont

I wanted to fresh install my gf's acer aspire one za3 from a usb boot disk. It stops at the prompt after selecting either try or install. I have tried using some boot options such as no acpi but that results in a grey screen (I do hear the login sound) and then nothing. Any ideas?

Are you sure that you got a good download? Did you check the Md5sum of the download?
Are you using a flash drive or a USB CD drive? Does it work on another computer?
How did you create the bootable device?
These are a few questions that I would ask first. Please excuse me if you have already considered them.
