Dear Admin,

I am sorry if this is not the right forum for my request. Please accept my apologies. I need you help, thanks. I also would like to declare that this is not for marketing or profit making purpose, no spamming intended whatsoever.

Hi Friends,

I know a group of students studying Linux at an institute in Mumbai city India. This institute invites guest lectures (not paid at all) to deliver lectures/seminars on a variety of Linux related issues such as system administration, security, scripting, user permissions etc. The distro you want to talk about can be anything from Ubuntu to Red Hat. The idea is to give the students some real world tips that would help them start a career in the IT/open source industry. These lectures are for people who are passionate about open source technologies and want to share their personal experiences with students who are yet to embark on a long journey as IT pros. Please help us guys. I am sure that the open source community if full of people dedicated to helping and inspiring young students in the right manner. Please help me guys. This is for a good cause. Thanks.

As this is very geographically restricting, you would better mention the regio in your title, and take a look at the local community of india: http://loco.ubuntu.com/teams/indian-team

Thanks for the help, I agree with you, I am a bit unsure as to how to approach the right people in Mumbai. I really have no clue as to where to look for help, thanks, please guide me further if you can.

There should be one or more Linux User Groups (LUG) in your area. They would have an idea who to ask or where to look.

Also, if you have good VoIP set up you could also bring in someone from further away without having to travel. They could send the slides (if any) in advance and someone on site could advance them as requested. Ekiga, Linphone and Twinkle are in the repository. Blink is also available.

Yes, this seems to be a good idea. I will try this one, thanks.

You can even start off by making this post in the different Indian Loco's forums that are right here - http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=389

Good luck :)

Thanks, there does not seem to be a dedicated Mumbai forum. Where do I post my thread?

There seems to be 3 or 4 others that are at least in India... better chance of getting someone from there to come to Mumbai then from other parts of the world.
