Hi guys,

I don't usually post here, but I start will now, seeing how much I would appreciate seeing replies from others. So I apologize if this bothers anyone.

My question is:

How do I move my data from WUBI, and put it on Ubuntu as the only OS on my laptop?

Right now I have windows 7 with WUBI installed. And I want to replace it with Ubuntu, but without using WUBI or making partitions. Just one OS (Ubuntu), that has the same files/data (I have backed the list of all installed packages and data files) as my WUBI one does now.

The laptop originally came with Windows 7, but I don't need it anymore. If I do, I can always use VirtualBox.

What's the easiest or simplest or fastest or safest way to do this?

My Laptop specs are:

RAM: 2.7GB
Processor: AMD V120
MEM: 250Gb
Model: ACER ASPIRE 5251-1940

Thanks in advance!!

What you want to do is possible , but it may be more work than a installing dual boot if something doesn't go right . See the links for instructions and help .
