Last gaming I did on an Apple machine was probably Santa Paravia on the IIe.

Not sure if it counts as old but I recently put Halo on my mac. I wish there was a Linux version of that game.

I had a very short run at installing games I suppose - I started in os8 and the last games I was still playing on it were probably tonyhawks, and EA cricket/nhl/nba games around the time of Jaguar?

My golden age of gaming was probably depressingly cross platform for this thread, but my favourites were
Myst,
Riven
Age of Empires 1&2 (shh MS!)
Rune
Quake
duke nuken 3d
Deus x
sim city
heros of might and magic

Then 2 I can't remember what they were called - one was basically a worm clone as we couldn't get worms on mac ;) The other was a combat flight simulator called hornet something, but I can't remember the name! oh there's probably loads I've forgotten .... the Imac is still at the parents, but I suspect most of the games were sold long ago for biscuits!

:( I only saw other's play that game but never played it myself. I had less scary games ;)
I got too many favorites from my old mac.

Pirates!
Shuffle Puck Café
Load Runner
Risk
Astoids
Stuntcopter
Number Maze
(Centipede clone where the centipede was a row of mice, the mushrooms were cheese in this clone, there was a bat trying to hit the arrow shooting the mice... after 2-3 levels you had a strange level were shopping carts would fall down the screen and you'd get extra points for shooting them down DOES ANYONE KNOW THE NAME OF THIS GAME)
Puzzle (connect the dots game for kids)
Tetris
Arkanoid (breakout clone)
Golf

while I compiled my list I found this cool website which pointed out some names of old games I played http://www.mobygames.com/browse/games/macintosh/1986/
I remember many games I did play but didnt really like, like those chess games, some poker game, some program were you could talk to a "psychologist", flight simulator (probably made by microsoft)... etc.

Pretty much all Ambrosia titles...

Maelstrom
Bubble Trouble
Escape Velocity
Apeiron
Barrack

They can still be found here (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/old/). Some even have updated OS X versions... Maelstrom is in the repos as a native Linux port.

Listen to the sounds in Apeiron... they are obscene. :D
