hello all,

is it possible to run a unity flavor of ubuntu in Virtualbox Seamless mode (http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/virtualboxs-seamless-mode-combine-operating-systems-desktop/)? when I enter seamless mode, all the toolsbars disappear, making the OS instance inaccessible.

my most common use-case for Ubuntu is as a virtual guest on my left monitor, in seamless mode. unfortunately this has not worked for me with Ubuntu editions later than Lucid. I'm an LTS kinda guy so that has been fine up till now, but with the next LTS being unity-only, I'm worried that I will have to find another distro. I did play with Mint MATE but had the same results.

alternately, if Unity can't be made to function in seamless, can someone suggest to me a distro/DE that will work with seamless (preferably into the foreseeable future)?
