Hi All,

I'm just wrapping up my latest ubuntu install.

But, I'm having a problem in Unity. I can't figure out how to bet from the launcher to the desktop. In other words, there should be a hotkey or an icon in the launcher that will take me directly to my desktop.

How do I get from an open application to the shortcut for the desktop in unity?

TIA

Sorry, I clicked on xubuntu, so the tag in the original post is wrong. It should have said 'ubuntu'.

I did find an answer of some sort, though it is not quite as good as a mouse click on the launcher shortcut to the desktop.

When you have programs open, you can get to the desktop by using a control-alt-d. It toggles, so you can move from and to the desktop very easily.

Found the answer on the #ubuntu freenode IRC channel.

I'm finishing up my fourth ubuntu conversion (away from windows), all 4 cases are for family members and even grandma loves ubuntu after living with windows since day 1.

Enjoy.
