Now I have a lot of background with booting images and several distros, but ever since I tried downloading and burning the new ubuntu 11, my laptop doesn't read the image at all, it wont even boot. I have tried booting UBCD and it boots perfect as well as booting a professional xp cd, but the moment I insert the ubuntu image, its like it doesn't even pick up the image, I use imgburn to burn the iso and I am writing at 1x speed so no files are missed or damaged during the burn process.

I use a lot of DVD, and my Suse DVD that I made is read, is it possible that the image was not made correctly, cause ubuntu is the only problem that I am having with.

Sounds strange. Usually the first thing to try would be another download, best with torrent because the torrent program checks for corruption during download.

In case you don't have the link to all the downloads:

http://releases.ubuntu.com/oneiric/

I was having the same problem.
Downloading the program with a torrent and burning it to a CD (I tried a DVD, didn't work) solved the problem in one go.
