I was just wondering what the best addons and mods there are for making ubuntu 11.10 work and look like Windows 7. I'm very familiar with the interface of that OS, so it would very nice if I could just replicate it, in a sense to make the transition easier for me. Thanks!

Moved to Desktop Environments.

I have no idea what Vista 7 (aka Windows 7) looks like, but if you want a highly customizable desktop environment look at KDE. You can get it by installing the package kde-plasma-desktop or kubuntu-desktop. It is probably the most configurable of the desktops.

XFCE is also very customizable.

Make sure the methods / themes posted are compatible with the current version of Ubuntu . I noticed some of the screen shots include Gnome 2 .

+1. There were many themes back when Ubuntu was using Gnome 2, however, most of them haven not been ported to Gnome 3 (i.e. GTK3).

You need to look for a GTK3 theme.
