Google Earth installedin Oneiric but will no longer run

GE was working fine but now shows only the opening logo then stops.
Have tried re-installing but to no avail.:(

I'm not even able to see the logo. It does nothing at all. If I try running the program from a terminal it says that the command is not found. Even when bash autocompletes it.

My guess is some alias is no longer working, so the program is installed but in a different location from it where used to be.

I've seen this issue on other forums, but I've found no solution.

Has anyone solved this out?
