It's very much the same wallpaper, but after a few days of having it, I started to not like the abstract on the left that I had stretched vertically when I put the wallpaper together. So went back to my source image, resized it (keeping proportions), and redid the left side of the finished wallpaper. Not only that, I added a very transparent but still noticeable Forest Medallion in the background.

It was basically a classic case of perfectionism. After a few days, I didn't like that one element of the wallpaper, so I fixed it :D

Yes, it will be. I used Unity on my Ubuntu workstation at work for awhile and didn't think it was so bad. KDE is nice, but just not for me.
I use Gnome 3 exclusively these days. The https://extensions.gnome.org/ site is making it easy to add productive (to me) items to Gnome Shell.
I actually started using workspaces to separate tasks which I never did in Gnome 2.x and seems to be working for me.

To me its little more complex on somethings compared to Conky, but its more modular and seems to have a few extra refined features that conky doesn't at the moment.


Here is a shot of mine with Console 2.00.147 running BASH from my Cygwin install. Really nifty to be able to run bash scripts and execute programs with in it. Even run windows programs in bash. :-)

I can't get over how nicely the second display is handled in Shell. It's the one thing I couldn't possibly part with.

Edit: I did rebuild my machine since my last screenshot, actually, which inexplicably solved some nagging bugs; it's back to the kind of stability I expect from Ubuntu. One little change I do love is the new feature in the volume control that sets the headphones and internal speakers separately. Normally I have the internal speakers turned off, which is a wonderful option to have - now if I can just remember to pause my music, since it's very easy to forget about it when I unplug and leave it playing silently for hours. = )

Will post my more adept setup later... on the laptop I use mainly atm though and have become adept to a simple Unity setup mainly for this laptop. Only thing I really did was some performance tweaks and shrunk the Unity bar so its not so big... thats it for this laptop.

Compiz-Config Settings Manager (CCSM) -> Ubuntu Unity Plugin -> Experimental -> Launcher Opacity. I have it set to 1.000. The Unity Launcher will grab the average color from your wallpaper, so changing it may also help.

I do have the original Ubuntu font on my android, not the new one though.
Im pretty sure there's a way I could do it, I just havent bothered yet.
Shouldnt be too hard on a rooted device.
Though it would be very easy to make my icons using the Ubuntu font,
So my bottom "Dock" , and my icons on screen were in the Ubuntu font.

I actually made a few with the Ubuntu font last night, (just like those round orange ones i made)
But I liked the birdman font better, so stuck with it.

Now you've got me curious though...
Maybe next time I post ill have the new ubuntu font hooked up. lol :P

It's cmus and it's standalone. Best terminal music app ever in my not so humble opinion. Just needs some getting used to. Has an excellent manpage too.
