Hello All

Advanced users skip over the instructions. They assume they know how to use things and don't have time to read complicated instructions
Most novice users skip over the instructions. They don't like reading too much and hope that the defaults will be OK

I've hacked up a two side fold over quick start guide to Unity (full fat version) for people who have just booted the Live CD. The PDF is at

http://sohcahtoa.org.uk/pages/files/live-cd-quick-start.pdf

The first page in the PDF file is pages 2,3 and the second page in the PDF file is pages 1,4 of the folded sheet.

What would you leave out?
What would you add?

I'll be trying this out in a few weeks.

Happy new year

mmm, very good. Now all I need is a working printer.

This, I think, would be very useful to a Loco. I do not belong to one but I have heard that they sometimes have events were they give away Live CDs.

How about a section on installing? That is a nervous thing to do if you do not know what to expect.

Regards from a likewise grateful Ubuntu user.

Hello grahammechanical and all

Thanks for feedback, and, yes I had thought about installing, then I decided to leave that to ubuntu.com help section and the Ubuntu Manual!

Anyone can use the PDF any way they want, and I can put the ODP file somewhere if a LOCO wanted to customise.

Happy new year all, I'm off to find bits of coal now.
