I'm trying to install Ubuntu 11.10 Desktop on a computer and when the CD starts loading up, it hangs after:
Loading file initrd-3.1.0-1.2-desktop...doneSome background:
1. This is an Acer Aspire ax1470
2. It's an EFI BIOS
3. I previously reformatted and partitioned the HD with GParted (in Parted Magic which I've since been told can't work with EFI, but I don't think that should matter for loading the CD)
4. I checked the md5 sum of the iso against the hashes at Ubuntu's site and it's correct
Any idea what could be wrong?
