Hello! I am having a problem that's seriously becoming a neusanse. I'm running Kubuntu 11.10 and have a ATI Radeon HD 6470 card. I downloaded the appropiate drivers from the amd website and installed them using:
cd Downloads
sudo sh filename.run
It all installs peachy. When i reboot the laptop however, KDE just refuses to start. In fact it usually just stops doing anything at all when it lists functions and PASSED / STARTED. There is a single line that says fail at this point.
Starting System 5 Runlevel compatability failed
I really need to get this driver working. Browsing facebook works, but when i try to view the local newspaper the whole darn thing goes lagging. With 2.10ghz and 4gb RAM the laptop more then qualifies to read the newspaper :P
So ... what can be done about this?
