Hi all,

This is the first time I am logging into this site and so I am not sure whether this is the correct place to post this thread.

I am new to ubuntu 11.10. I am facing two problems. Please help...

1) when I open gconf-editor, in the path, /apps/nautilus, I have only one folder called preferences, normally I should have desktop and other folders as well where I can check the options like volumes visible etc...Please check the screenshot attached. I am not able to find that folder... Do I need to install any package for that? Please suggest...

2) I have 4 partitions also and I have complete data in it. What ever folder I open, the icon size is very big. In each and every folder I go, I need to click zoom out button. Do we have any setting like this? In Ubuntu 9, I have seen a general option in my computer--edit menu--properties(not sure)--icon size. I remember this might be the path. I changed the icon size there and in all the folders the size has reflected. Please help me with this too....

Thanks,
Chaitanya.

Welcome to the forum,chaitanyakumar.

Sorry, if I'm mistaken in what you wish to achieve, but you can install

myunity

in synaptic package manager, or ubuntu software center.

This will help resize the icons.
