When I install Xubuntu 12.04; I was thinking of installing Nautilus Elementary, but I am reading that it will not be continued (http://askubuntu.com/questions/67310/will-nautilus-elementary-be-available-for-11-10) to be developed. With Marlin (https://launchpad.net/marlin)being developed on GTK3, I was wondering if anyone, has installed it in Xfce 4.10 and if so, how is it.

Thanks.

I too was an Elementary user and have held off on marlin due to warnings that PPA is unstable . If you have important data a file manager PPA may not be a good idea . I plan to give it another look when 12.04 is released .

There are a host of other file managers (http://www.linuxlinks.com/article/20081224191928555/FileManagers.html) you can try (which you may already know about). I use XFE in a pinch.

Hey, thanks for that.

I am only familiar with a few of these.

But, really only used Nautilus extensively with my default Ubuntu. I used Thunar, when I was switching to Xubuntu, until I hosed it and decided to stay with Nautilus in Gnome2/Lucid, until EOL. I then plan to use Xubuntu, again with Thunar. Before, in Xubuntu, I found myself, opening Nautilus in terminal too often (what I was used to), to give Thunar a good try. The only other FM that I have played with, albeit sporadically, was Gnome Commander, which looked, real cool.

I will enjoy reading about all the others. Maybe, try out a few.

EDIT: That is a very informative site!

I can't use any other file manager than Krusader, even in XFCE. Nothing comes close for me.
