Title pretty much explains it... I use "ALT+Left Click" to save pictures in Firefox quite a bit in Windows 7... currently ALT+Click moves windows...

In the last version of Ubuntu you could go system->preferences->windows and change it to the windows key(super key) as suggested in THIS (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1621434&highlight=%26quot%3Balt+left*click%26quot%3B) thread... however since the switch to Gnome 3 I cant find the "windows" menu

Any help would be appreciated this one problem is currently the only thing stopping me from using Ubuntu full time

Did you try "ctrl + Right click"?

Did you try "ctrl + Right click"?

Doesn't seem to do anything other than open the right click menu... I can still save links and pictures using that menu but it becomes a huge pain when saving multiple links/pictures

Have you considered using an add-on for this? You can set something up with FireGestures, for instance, where all you have to do is Right-Click and drag on the image to Save Image As.

Instead of FireGestures, which is awesome btw, I would recommend Drag & DropZones (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/drag-dropzones/). This extension allows to assign search engines or context menu actions to zones on your window. Then you can simply drag text, links or images from pages to these zones it will perform the configured action. They are like drop boxes.

So, all you need is to assign the "Save Image As" context menu action to a zone. Once you do that, then saving images will easier than ever. Just drag the image to the zone.
