This is a new computer. The USB disk has been tested with my laptop, and works.
The computer cannot boot from the ubuntu usb key. It hangs at the line
"Attached USB Removable Device", which is stated for either sdb (other HDD attached) or sda (usb-key only).
11.10 x84-64.
