hi, i am new to ubuntu as well as other flavors, recently i installed ubuntu 11.01 into my pc, and also installed php5, mysql, apache2 and phpmyadmin, everything worked greatly,

recent i required php 4.4.9, and i googled from: http://www.websoftix.com/Blog/How-To-run-php4-in-paralel-with-php5-on-Ubuntu-11 and install php 4.4.9 and done, but when i am going to start phpmyadmin then i got the error like : PHP 5.2+ is required

i think it's mean its not compatible with php 4.4.9,
i also tried to remove phpmyadmin and installed phpmyadmin 4.4.9 but still it shows latest phpmyadmin version :(

Please help me to solve this ..

From Ubuntu Software center you can install phpmyadmin 4:3.4.5-1 and it's the way most recommended to do it. Otherwise you are getting the problems you have. If in the Center looks like installed, remove it and install it again.
