Hi

I am new to Ubuntu but have been around Linux for the a few years now

I have been trying to set up Natty on my desktop so I can run Flightgear 2.4, the installer keeps crashing. My set up is a a desktop -pure linux - with 4 hard drives and an Asus P8Z68-V mobo, I mention it because the mobo may be the problem.

I am installing off a DVD it runs through the initial questions okay

I am selecting sda6 to install the grub loader then

/ sda 6
swap sda 5
/home sda 12

with format selected, and ext3 file system

The installer generally complains that computer name is used by the network, ah no its not it can only pinch that from menu.lst at mbr on sda1. With appropriate adjustments, I then get the time zone organized then sometime after that it tells me the installer has crashed and suggests it is a bad disc ?
