View Full Version : [ubuntu] Stuck in resizing UI on resume

I have a Thinkpad T520 running Ubuntu 11.10. Occasionally, when I resume my laptop and Firefox is focused, the Firefox window gets stuck with a strange resize/move UI around it. The window will have transparent orange circles on the sides and corners with outwards-pointing arrows on them, and a larger, four-arrowed orange circle in the center. I can't figure out how to get out of this state, and the circles get in the way of the UI and steal clicks, so I always have to close and restart Firefox. What is the actual way of escaping this state?

Also, the last time this happened, the mouse also got stuck in a "dragging" position with the closed-hand icon, and no windows would respond to mouse or keyboard input. (However, Alt+Tabbing still worked for some reason.) I could move the mouse but couldn't perform any input actions, so I had to hardware shutdown. How can I avoid this happening again?

Thanks for your help!
