Ubuntu DVD has other software bundled into it

Hello guys,
I got a DVD which has ubuntu and some other software in it with a computer magazine. On the DVD cover it says BOOTABLE in big letters below UBUNTU. The DVD has some other software in it too. So what I wanna know is IS it possible to install ubuntu from it? Im a little bit skeptic as it has other software along it, then how can my pc boot from the components of ubuntu and install it on only my PC?

I never worked with DVD but probably it is additional software added witch you can install from DVD.Nothing else cross my mind.
