I tried to upgrade my laptop, but during the upgrade the update manager told me something like "third party software will be ignored at this time." That didn't stop the installation process though, when I tried to reboot my laptop, it wouldn't work. After "Ubuntu" appeared on the screen it started switching between three screens I would usually see during the start up. Now, every time I try to use my laptop, it leads me to the command prompt and all I can do is access the virtual console.
I don't have any idea what I am doing. I have tried getting help from other users, but none of their advice has helped yet.
