Which PPA repositories from launchpad do you use? Which are popular?

Im just interested which repositories from launchpad (or anywhere else) do you use and for which programs... which ones, that i dont have yet (repositories and/or programs) would you recommend to me?

All I frankly know is that I wish there was a list like this back when I started using Ubuntu. Ideally it would be intigrated into the software center, so its not a hazzle to find PPAs.

SimonAndric, you seem pretty obsessed with having the absolute latest packages eh? Half that stuff is already in the repos.

I am using the XBMC one, and that is about it. Most things I need are in the standard Ubuntu repos.

I use superos repository (http://hacktolive.org/wiki/Super_OS_repository). It is not a ppa. But it contains some packages I use like: truecrypt, opera, vbox, ........

I use as little PPAs as possible. Howver right now I have PPAs for OpenShot, Kdenlive and TV-MAXE (which works quite well to watch sopcast streams.). I have OpenShot and Kdenlive via PPA as I'm on Lucid and the versions in the Lucid repos are quite old.

I have started to use some theme PPA'S because updating Gnome 3 themes was becoming a bit of a hassle .

PPA's are a such an addiction, and its what keeps me away from Debian ^_^
Its like Firefox add-ons, can't live without them or even switch browsers :3

For Debian users:
Imagine having a stable system with only the packages you want updated.., without compiling, that is, and automatically updated. Sure, repositories have always done that, and PPAs are nothing but small personal repositories, that happen to compile packages for the various architectures and versions; instead of forcing each developer to host their own (which most never bother to do).

This alone makes it worth to do an Ubuntu minimal install and custom your way instead of Debian, just to have flawless PPA support. That is a difference that matters, distro wise. Of course the other Ubuntu derivatives such as Mint enjoy this.

Ok i must say Ubuntu also has some nice tasksel selections, way more than Debian (and some strange, Xubuntu minimal or XFCE desktop?) :)
