how do we change themes in ubuntu 11.10.
i upgraded that from 11.04.
i dont know how to change themes.i saw some links in net but did'nt succeed!!!

System Settings. Themes are on the Appearance page. Did you try searching on Dash?

Unless you're proficient with the terminal, it's best to copy and paste the codes into the terminal. You have to understand and follow all of the instructions carefully and they can be pretty complicated if you're a new user.

i did try dat.but was unable to add new themes der.i downloaded new themes and backes up it successfully .still no HOpe!!

I tried to put downloaded themes in both .themes and /usr/theme/share folder. But none of them appers in the dropdown menu of gnome tweak tool . What to do?

Make sure the themes installed are GTK 3 compatible because GTK 2 themes wont work in 11.10 . You can find GTK 3 themes at the link . http://gnome-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=167&PHPSESSID=aaaacdf089f6aeff7529f160178d4234
If you are using GTK 3 themes try logging out and in or restarting.
