how do u run unetbootin after it's downloaded in download file?
clicked open with firefox,
and tab; save file or cancel, shows up.

It should be downloaded and installed through Software Center. If you downloaded from the web, be sure it was the .deb file- (( I don't know if there is one on the web)-try to right click it and choose to let software center install it.
You can get anything through software center and it will install.

version 549 is in software center.
and
version 565 is on web.
can i install the latest one from software center?..

Are you running 11.10?
I'm sure 549 works just fine. But if you prefer the newest, an expert will have to give instructions on how to install the downloaded 565, sorry.
Do you mean that you clicked 'install' in software center, but it didn't install? Did it give an error message? Try it again.

yep,
i'm running xubuntu 11.10 from wubi.
i clicked 'install' on software center, error message did not show up.
i clicked install many times...
Are you running 11.10?
I'm sure 549 works just fine. But if you prefer the newest, an expert will have to give instructions on how to install the downloaded 565, sorry.

Try the link above, and copy/paste the codes into the terminal to avoid mistyping. It will be easier.
