Hello,

I tried to install Ubuntu 11.10 using the alternate CD (from USB-Stick/unetbootin). Is there a way around entering network information? I access with DSL and as far as I can see the installer doesn't offer pppoe. Or, does another CD image/older version of the alternate feature full disk encryption?

Thanks in advance! :)
Joerg

Just leave it at automatic (dhcp), it will configure it for dhcp. The connection will not work but the install will continue, it doesn't actually need to detect a working internet connection.

Once it is installed you will have to create your connection in Network Manager I guess.

Thanks for the hint! =)

After it recognizes the network, one's in a dead end, but cancelling the scanning process indeed spares this; saying no to manually configuration then leads further.
