Been having this problem for quite some time. When i try to update i just keep getting this in return.
" invalid package name (character ' not allowed (only letters, digits and characters `-+._'))
dpkg: error: parsing file '/var/lib/dpkg/status' near line 3867:"
repeated five or six times, then
"Exception during pm.DoInstall(): E:Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2), E:Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2), E:Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)"
with the "...dpkg returned an error code 2" repeated about a dozen times. these error codes seem to repeat for quite a bit.
i seem to remember reading a post on a different website before my computer broke (for hardware related reasons) where the person was having similar problems and it ended up being a corrupted file or something along those lines? I'm still pretty new at this, so, um, help?
