View Full Version : [ubuntu] Maintain BackupPC Config on Fresh Install

I'm a Linux/Ubuntu noob and am looking for some help with the below question. If I'm posting in the wrong forum, please feel free to bump this thread to where it needs to be.

Over the summer I installed Ubuntu Server 10.10 (have since upgraded to 11.04) and configured a few programs on it, most notably BackupPC, for my company. This box was also my test/lab box for a while so I've filled it up with a lot of junk I no longer need.

Is there a way to perform a clean install whilst maintaining my BackupPC config settings (and OpenVPN config/files, too)? I want to install Server 10.04 for the LTS support. My BackupPC data is stored on a separate physical drive, so I'm not worried about losing the data so much as the configuration of the program.

I'm sure there is a post with instructions on how to do this elsewhere, I've just been unsuccessful in searching it out.

Thanks in advance for any help/info on this issue.
