Rather than scouring the internet for hours and hours and hours I figured this might be a better idea.

What icon set (or system theme in general, window borders, etc would be nice too) would people recommend for unity2d for people who are kindof tired of the super shiny clean/modern/minimalist look you see everywhere.

I found a few that seemed great but I figured I could get more (perhaps even better) suggestions of I asked. The two i found were Hoya Imperial (http://raindropmemory.deviantart.com/art/Hoya-Imperial-Icon-Set-119462956) and Ubo Icons (http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Ubo+Icons+Theme?content=122078).

Thoughts?

Hoya Imperial loks good...Steampunk would also be very nice indeed.

Yeah. My main issue with Hoya Imperial is that it appears to be just a bunch of icons and not a packaged set that I can easily just one-click install.

buuf http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Buuf?content=81153Sweet. The buuf one reminds me of ubo except actually complete. The ubo one has tons of empty files.

Wow I just realized that there is absolutely no way to install these icons in unity2d AT ALL. I... I'm not even sure what to do at this point.

Place the extracted folder in usr/share/ icons in the file system or create a .icons folder in home / hidden folders . Be aware that some of the older icon sets don't work with Gnome 3 . You will also need install the Gnome Tweak Tool / Advanced Settings for making theme and Icon selections .

I think I'll actually make Hoya Imperial into a proper icon theme sometime over the weekend. I'll post a link back to it once I do it.

Don't want to give the idea that I'm not making the set into an icon theme like I said I would. I am, I'm about 1/3 done, I just only have the opportunity to do it a few minutes at a time here and there.
