Error: No boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed

Hello,

Need some installation assistance.

Try to install Ubuntu Secured Remix 11.10

from

After I install and reboot I just get the message ERROR: No boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed.

I have run the boot disk repair program but that has not helped.

I am installing on HP Pavilion p7-1047c Desktop , 2 TB hard disk, 6 GB RAM.

Hello,

Having the same problem as "old_hobbes". Computer installed on
HP Pavilion HPE h8-1280t, brand new April 2012.
The installation goes well for UBUNTU 10.04 or 12.04, but fails to boot.

This error appears to me to be coming from the BIOS.

I got Centos 6.2 to install and boot so I know this is a UBUNTU problem,
but I do not know where.
