View Full Version : [ubuntu] Ubuntu Dualbooting on Mac

Hi all, I'm going away on a trip for Christmas soon, and I wanted to bring ubuntu with me so i can program while I'm gone. I don't have a laptop so I installed it on my dad's macbook on a small partition. Did everything the same as I did on my PC, but the mac can't tell it's there. I hold down the option key when booting up but it only sees the mac hd and the recovery hd. On my PC I simply installed ubuntu, rebooted then on the grub menu it asked me weather i wanted to boot from the linux partition or the windows 7 partition. I wish it was half that easy on the mac. I tried messing around with boot camp but that only lets you install windows 7. I did some research and some people were talking about a program called yboot or something. Idk why it doesn't just work like it does on a normal computer, but I would appreciate it if you guys could help me.
