Hi,

I know just enough about Linux (Ubuntu that is) to get into trouble. I have installed 11.10 on a Dell Precision Workstation T5500. The system has a Nvidia Quadro NVS 295 video adapter which comes with two HDMI ports. I have two 24" screens that I want to use with this system. The left monitor is recognized without issue. I read that the latest driver (290.x) fixes an issue in Gnome3 with multi display support (not sure about the gnome 3 part... might have just been in general). I tried to install it and although it appeared to work soemthing went wrong and my window manager failed to launch. Fortunately I didn't have a lot of configuration in place yet so I didn't lose much -- I reloaded the OS as that was the only way I knew to solve the issue.

I'm back up and running, but with only one monitor. I'm willing to try again, but I was hoping a guru on here would help me troubleshoot any issues I have.

Thanks in advance.
