liveCD does not work with my laptop LG RD450. After i select install a blank screen appears and nothing happens.

maybe you could help us out by giving so more information.

What version of the Live CD are you trying to install
Did you run this Live CD and test you system before trying to install

i am using 11.10 cd which i have download and burn. it worked with my desktop but not with laptop. I tried the alternative download also but same result.

you may need to set the BIOS to boot from the CD/DVD first.

to do that, start the laptop and as soon as you see the lettering on the screen hit (usually) F2, possibly F12, select the boot sequence from the BIOS menu and set the the first one to CD/DVD then F10 to save.

insert the Ubuntu disk and reboot

the laptop boots from CD. it allows me to select language and when i finally select install. there is only black screen.
