Hello all, I m new to this forum and also new to ubuntu. I want to decorate my ubuntu with some cool desktop effects or window effects. please tell me where can i find extra effects, animation, icons and how to use them. Hopping some help here...

Caution ! be careful activating effects in 11.10 and make sure you know how to recover if some thing goes wrong .

Install the proprietary driver for your graphics card from additional drivers . Install the CCSM from the software center and there is a package named compiz-plugins-extra .

Effects can be activated from the ccsm , but Compiz can by touchy on 11.10 . I suggest disabling the Ubuntu Unity Plug-in prior activating any effects an starting it after selections are made.

Read all dialog boxes that appear very carefully !
