upgrade command upgrades to newer kernel :s

Hey,

I had a question. I often do an upgrade of my 10.04 ubuntu.
Now I did the same and it updated to 10.10.
I did not use dist-upgrade so why did this happen?

My bad, it is normal. But still, why? If I have a stable working 10.04 why am I forced into the 10.10 ?
