I just reinstalled Ubuntu (11.10, gforce 9500, nvidia drivers). On the initial install I had the 3.0.0.12 kernel; then there was an update - now I have the 3.0.0.13 kernel.
On the .12 kernel I installed the nvidia drivers when prompted. Unfortunately, when I try to boot into the .13 kernel my video does not work (purple screen, no mouse)
How do I approach getting the nvidia drivers to work with the .13 kernel?
Better - how do I take a more proactive approach and solve this issue for the .13 release and beyond?
