My plunky 20Gb hard drive on my Dell C-600 finally faded into history. With it, the beloved 9.10 that served me so well also is now obscure. I think I will use the dead drive as a bell clacker for this rather large bell my wife is making.
If I can convince her...

I have a dell inspiron 1100 notebook pushing a decade of use. Wondering too when it will finally stop. So far so good, though :)

No no she's not dead, she's, she's restin'! Remarkable drive, the 20Gb, didn't, ay? Beautiful platters!

i have a couple c-400 and c600's in a box out in the shed. as far as i remember they still have the drives in them and still work. Again as i recall they have 8.04 on them . I also have a brand new docking port for them.

Good luck with the wife. Side note, a past land lady finally found some mail she lost years ago, in it was a Ubuntu 8.10 cd that I ordered but didn't get...until now. Might save it, might be worth something someday.
