hi I have been trying to get synaptic to load in Gnome and Ubuntu desktops.
if I open terminal and type synaptic-pkexec I get the following
(synaptic:1809) GTK-warning**:cannot open display : :0.0
If I type gksu synaptic I get the following error message
what( ): vector: :_m_range_check
instance of "std: : out_of_range"
can anyone tell me what this means?
I also have Ubuntu 11.10 loaded on a different partition and the command gksu synaptic typed in terminal will open synaptic. The difference in this install is I downloaded the full KDE desktop as well as Gnome and Ubuntu desktops. For the install I am Having the problem with KDE is not loaded.
