Hello everyone
New here,new to Linux!

My laptop's running windows 7 professional,64-bit!
I downloaded wubi, and when the installation was completed,I rebooted my laptop, and there was a screen where it asked me wich operating system I want to run, when I selected ubuntu,it gave me this eror:

Gave up waiting for root device - Common problems are
-Boot args (cat/proc/cmdline)
-Check rootdelay=(did the system wait long enough?)
-Check root=(did the system wait for the right device?)
-Missing modules (cat/proc/modules; is/dev)
ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/8c44-4dba does not exist. Dropping to a shell.

What should I do?!

Thx!

Hi and welcome to the forums :-)

Please post the results of the boot info script so we can see what is going on.

There is a link at the bottom of my post with instructions.

You will need to get hold of an Ubuntu LiveCD or LiveUSB and boot the computer choosing to try not install to then download and run the script.

Thanks.
