Hello everyone,

My main distribution is Ubuntu 10.04 on a x86 desktop PC. I do not have a disk burner.

I would like to run the Iaktos install software from a USB thumbdrive. I have downloaded Iaktos_v7.iso and would like to turn it into a bootable USB, to be able to install Iaktos on another partition of my HDD.

I tried mounting the iso onto the /mnt/iso directory of my Ubuntu distro, then dd the boot0 file into the USB key MBR, dd the boot1h file into the USB key root, then copy the boot file to the USB key root.
The USB key does not boot, but a "boot error" message appears
How should I go about it? Should I install Grub2 on the thumb drive instead?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Manube

You will have to get help with that elsewhere.
