Since the launch of Unity, it's been getting a lot of bad press. I'd tried to run Ubuntu 11,04 and 11.10 in a VM, but with doing that Unity never seemed to work in the virtual environment. I thought it was about time, I tried it for myself on my main machine and used it all the time.

My main machine was still on 10.04, so I started my upgrade process through last week, moving up a version every other night or so and I'm now on 11.10 and using Unity.

I'm interested to hear what peoples thoughts are on Unity, myself so far it seems to be good. I found this guide and took a few things from it, smaller icons, changed the animation of the bar etc:

I've been adding different programs that I use all the time to the Unity launcher, seems to be working fine.

Are people ditching it and going to another desktop manager? What do we think of Unity so far good people of the Ubuntu Forums?

Haven't been on the forums much lately, have you? It's been "I hate Unity" Central for the past month or so.

Wander over to Recurring Discussions, and wallow in Unity discussion to your heart's content.
